SpongeBob SquarePants The Arcade Game is a fan game created by me (Jason Orme) using Multimedia Fusion 2. This is an un-official game that I have created all the graphics and animation for aswell as coding. This is my attempt at created a scrolling beat em up in the style of Konami's arcade games from the early 90's such as The Simpsons and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I've been working on this in my spare time since March 2009 and is being created solely for fun. You may notice a few things within the video as the game is still in the very early stages. First of all you will notice the Orange Fishmen turn blue when certain animations are played, this is just due to me not having finished their animations off yet. Spongebob can jump, but I haven't currently animated any aerial attacks just yet. Spongebob does take damage but there is no "hurt" animation yet. The player health bars and music are taken from Konami's Asterix arcade game, you may also notice a couple of sound effects from The Simpsons arcade game. Also, some of the detailed foreground I did not draw including the billboard (these were ripped directly from the show). Patrick is a playable character, but not all his animations are complete.
